Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale is upon us (6-7 October), and the good news for motorhome owners is it’s an event which is giving you the chance to get a good deal on some useful touring products.
I’ve been browsing the sale and if you find your kit is in need of refreshing, these are the five deals I would be taking a look at.

Merrell Men’s Moab 3 Hiking Shoe was £155 now £92.64 – save 40%
A good pair of walking boots is always something to hanker after, even if it’s just to help you access the more rigorous parts of the caravan park on your daily dog walk. When I first started embracing the great outdoors, I was told that as a general rule of thumb you should devote 50% of your proposed budget to decent footwear. So it makes even more sense to take advantage of a decent offer on a respected brand like this one, with a suede and mesh boot that has a sturdy rubber sole.

Yeti Tundra 45 Coolbox was £325 now £211.25 – save 35%
Yeti is a regular exhibitor at the caravan and motorhome shows at the NEC, and it’s not hard to see why. These coolboxes are sturdily made. Built with the same material that goes into making white water kayaks, they also feature freezer grade gasket locks and come with Doublehaul rope handles for easy lifting. This one is available in ten different colours, and can carry 54 cans or 16.8kg of ice. It should make sure that, even on the hottest of summer days, your drinks will stay cool while you are on the road.

Rechargeable wide beam head torch was £19.98 now £14.24 – save 29%
Sooner or later you are bound to find yourself stumbling around in the dark outside your vehicle – whether it’s to empty the toilet cassette, to check that the hook up cable is properly connected, or to get something out of the garage at the back. You can of course use a torch to help you in such situations, but a head torch is so much more useful, because it leaves you with both hands free. You don’t have to spend a huge amount of money on one either, although it’s still nice to get a discount on one like this, that can run for 22 hours before needing recharging and has a wide 230-degree beam.

Campingaz Chef Folding Double Burner Stove and Grill was £64.95 now £46.89 – save 28%
Even if your vehicle has its own external barbecue point, if you have the space and the payload a fully portable stove like this makes impromptu cooking in the real wide open that much more possible. This stove only weighs 4kg, but comes with two burners as well as a downward burner for the grill. The lid acts as a wind barrier, and you won’t need matches either because this model comes with piezo ignition. All you need to fuel is one of Campingaz’s R904 or R907 gas cylinders.

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Portable Power Station was £499 now £379 – save 24%
All too often portable power stations seem an excellent way of expanding the possibilities of where you can travel or what you can do with your awning, until you realise that they are heavy enough to be impractical. This model from Jackery only weighs 10.8kg, which should be light enough for most people to carry and shouldn’t eat too much into your payload. Yet it has a 1500W AC output, and only takes an hour to charge. With two 230V sockets and every kind of USB port, is comes with a sturdy handle, and can even be controlled via an app.
